Candy Makers Book Review

How can the life is Sweet Candy Factory continue making candy when so much confusion rises? Logan, Miles, Daisy, and Phillip are in a candy making competition and so far nothing is what it seems. This competition appears to be a hard candy on the outside. Although on the inside it’s full of juicy secrets, revenge, and countless mishaps when the candy making competition tears people apart and slowly mends them back together.

This book is a mystery. I can’t tell you the secret, but I can tell you the facts. First Miles, Daisy, and Phillip arrive at the candy factory (Logan already lives there because he’s the candy maker’s son) once they have played around with the candy making machines two of them seem to leave and the other two have a sleepover together. Some stuff I can’t tell you about gets really jumbled up. A few days later and it’s time for the judging of the competition. Confusion rises, things get intense, and then they get explained.

Where this book takes place is called the Life is Sweet Candy Factory. The setting of this book isn’t sugar and spice and everything nice. The setting is much like the characters of the book (they both have secrets). But on the outside it is one of the most famous candy factories in America that smells like pure sugar.

Logan is a good kid, but he has a twist to him. He’s also thankful. He is more of a follower in the sense of personality. The reason that I know that is that he sits in bed every morning and thinks about what he’s thankful for.

Miles is, well… odd. He has a weird hobby of studying the afterlife. He also skaeps sdrawards (speaks backwards) But don’t tell anyone, he doesn't want anyone to know!

Phillip really isn’t who you think he is. He has a notepad that no one is allowed to read. He is also very adult-like and serious. He is, well I’m just going to say has a strong personality because I don’t want to be rude.

Daisy I saved for last because she’s my favorite. She has a HUMONGOUS twist in the book (not literally) She is a leader, but she is very sweet, yet also fair.

The author of The Candy Makers is Wendy Mass. She was born January 17, 1967. Some other books she has written are: A Mango shaped Space, Leap Day, Heaven Looks a Lot Like the Mall, and 11 Birthdays.
You might wonder what it’s like to be in a candy factory. It might not be what you expect. This book isn’t all sugar and spice and everything nice, but it’s a mysterious book that anyone who likes mysteries will love. Even though the author isn’t famous she did a fantastic job writing this book. The story held my attention so that I didn’t want to put this book down. My point is that The Candy Makers is one amazing book!
